About Barb

I am a songwriter from Lacombe, Alberta (Canada). I have completed Berklee Music’s Specialist Orchestrating and Producing Music for Film and Games certificate program, winning an online scholarship along the way. Previous to enrolling at Berklee, I obtained Lyricist and Commercial Songwriter certificates from and worked through a number of Berklee texts and workbooks on my own. Additionally, I plan to continue writing/arranging sacred music for orchestra, choir, a capella groups and solo artists.

You never cease to amaze me with your gift for music!

You are extremely talented. It gives me great pleasure to learn about others that have a similar passion as I do.

My ambition in music? After teaching piano for 24 years I’m getting tired of the same structure books. I’ve taught from Leila Fletcher all the way to Royal Conservatory. But I would like to write my own set of teaching books – theory, rudimental, and performance books from grades 1 – 12 for the recreational artists. I hope to achieve this someday. That’s my goal!

That sounds great, Sandy. Go for it! I’d love to see what you come up with, so keep me in mind for that.

Hi Barb – I love your music! Very progressive and reminding me of a keyboardist friend of mine from uni who used to have all kinds of weird (and wonderful) solos and jams
